SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION

SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION investigates articulations of knowledge and knowledge systems: how may content/data/information be shared within and made accessible beyond distinct owner communities?

Our world is in a state of constant transformation due to political and economic globalisation, technological innovation, urbanisation, and vast social challenges. Within these ongoing transformation processes, creative practices can play a positive role. In the past twenty years we have witnessed an emergence of socially engaged art, social design, and community-driven creative practices. A great number of creative practitioners operate with an extended notion of art and organise their creative practices beyond purely aesthetic functions, promoting communication, expression and exchange with a view to initiating social development.
